Aston Engineering, Derby. Converted an old industrial unit into a new office and workshop space for the maintenance, restoration and repair of these classic British Motor Cars.
LED lighting was installed throughout the unit, with very high levels of lighting installed within the workshop area to enhance the high value of the sports cars. General power was installed around the workshop as well as three phase supplies for machines, ramps and general tools.
Retford Market place was updated and given a new stone surface by the main contractor to make a safer focal area in the town. John Unwin Ltd installed new lamp posts, ground and building mounted lighting around the square and we also installed ground recessed power outlets which are used by the market traders on their stalls. The existing distribution around the square was also upgraded to allow for the additional equipment being connected.
A new Dining Block was erected at Twycross Public School in Leicestershire. Working with a local architect and main contractor John Unwin Ltd developed the initial electrical design to give a modern and minimalistic feel to the space within.
A new Animal Care facility was purpose built for Brooksby Melton College. This was a design and build project to give the college teaching and practical areas for student to learn about the care of animals,
A new church Hall sympathetically built onto the side of a traditional Church in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire.
This new building was formed using traditional skills and materials such as stone and wood but was fitted out to a modern style with aluminium lights and fittings.
A New Swimming Pool with modern changing rooms was built on the site of the old pool hall.
Care was taken with the lighting design to work with the curvature of the ceiling. The existing fire alarm system from the school was extended into the new building, a new door access system and tannoy system were installed for safety purposes.
A 1960s house in Rutland was fully modernised by Nottingham Architects Rayner Davies Architects in Nottingham. New power and lighting was installed to give a clean and modern feel to this family home.
This family house was rescued from dereliction and rebuilt and extended to give a games room and triple garages. The internal lighting was designed by David Village Lighting giving each room a wow factor for the new owners.
Melton College went through a complete face lift and modernisation to give new teaching and admin areas plus a new dining area for the students. A full rewire was completed including fire and security systems all as designed by the clients consultants with some input from John Unwin Ltd. A feature the College wanted us to design and install was a colour changing DMX controlled ceiling over the new dining area. The college puts on large theatrical productions for the local area and wanted something a little different with the lighting for the intervals.
Three existing buildings were stripped back to their steel frames and totally refurbished to give new lorry workshop, storage area and washdown facility for Walkers Movements. The whole electrical installation was undertaken by John Unwin Ltd, this was a design and build with close discussions with the client to give him what he and his team needed to make this new site work for them. Existing 12m lamp posts where clad with 140W LED flood lights to illuminate the Lorry Yard not only for security but for Lorry sales.
This 19th Century house was tired and ready for a new lease of life. Together with Pearson Property Developments we worked with the client to fully modernise the house but giving it the feel of a traditional country house.
A new metal framed, stone built house of distinction was built in the Leicestershire country side. The house was fully fitted out electrically including swimming pool, gym, and sauna. We worked directly with the client, their interior designer and the main contractor to hand over this beautiful house.
